At room temperature, Nitric Oxide (NO) is a colourless, non-flammable and toxic with an irritating odor. Nitric Oxide sensors is extremely toxic by inhalation, and symptoms of over-exposure may not become apparent for up to 72 hours. In the presence of air, Nitric Oxide forms brown fumes of nitrogen dioxide and is extremely reactive and a strong oxidizing agent.

Alphasense Nitric Oxide Sensors (NO Sensors) are available in a wide range of formats and both PPM and PPB variants, making them suitable for use in variety of applications, from fixed and portable detection instruments to environmental monitoring systems and networks.

The NO range provides OEMs with reliable sensors for use in a number of high volume applications. Strong signal levels combined with low zero current allows resolution to 200 parts per billion (ppb) whilst giving linear outputs to as high as 250ppm. The sensors are suitable for inclusion in fixed installation sensing heads, portable safety instruments, urban air monitoring and stack gas analysers.

Alphasense NO sensors provide a significant improvement in stability of response to transient relative humidity changes.
